Mark your calendars! Ron's Annual Golf Scramble 2012 to be held June 4!
This year's Ron's Annual Golf Scramble was a "wet" success on May 23. Wet because we only played half the round, before lightning and rain brought things to a halt. Some of the teams finished 12 holes others only 9. Head pro Charlie Mabie figured the scores using handicaps against par for the first 9 holes played. The winning team was composed of Bill Laroche, Mike Morgan, Joy Lewis and Jim Thompson. According to Bill he was able to hold the team together by his outstanding play, the fact that Joy made every putt she looked at was only because he told her where to putt the ball. Rumor has it that Bill has a big imagination. Fighting spring weather will continue to be an issue, but the fellowship is worth the risk.
We are grateful to The Botsford Group for their sponsorship and the donation of $3,500 to the Autism Treatment Center (ATC) of Dallas. We set another record this year with over $24,500 raised for ATC. The committee is grateful to all the sponsors and the links will be added to our list. Working with local hotels who are sponsors for out of town guests has been a real benefit. When needed, out of town guests stay at the hotels and then they contribute additional cash to the ATC of Dallas. This makes everyone a winner. We also raffle off the extra rooms.
This was the eleventh event and we will be planning for number twelve in about three months.
2010 Ron's Annual Golf Scramble (RAGS)
Monday, June 7, was a great day for the 2010 Ron's Annual Golf Scramble benefiting the Autism Treatment Center (ATC) of Dallas. The weather was GREAT and so was the course. The committee did a great job and we had a full tournament of 132 players. If you or someone you know would like to be a sponsor for this year's 2011 tournament, please contact us. It is never too late to give money for a good cause. In 2010, we set a new record for our gathering and raised $22,210 with a few more dollars from extra shirt sales that may show up. All sponsor cash donations go directly to Autism Treatment Center (ATC) of Dallas, and any prizes are used for our raffle, door prize or live auction.
We will post next year's tournament date as soon as it is finalized, but it will again be in late May or early June. Save a spot in your wallet and your heart for this fun time.
